The Errata Page

While it is the goal in writing to make everything absolutely clear and error free, no book is ever published without errors of some sort. Technical books are especially prone to errors and clarity issues for various reasons. These issues can prove especially frustrating when you are trying to follow step-by-step procedures and continually get the wrong result.

Instead of denying that issues exist and letting readers hang or feel around blindly, I have made a habit of listing any problems discovered in the text on my websites so that no one has to figure out the problems on their own in an atteempt to clarify before issues become frustrating. This page is updated as issues are discovered or reported by readers.

If You Find An Error...

If you find a problem not listed on this page in the book, please contact Richard and let him know so he can post it here. This way others can benefit from your keen eye, and the issue will be fixed in future editions. Your participation is appreciated.

Errata (ordered by pages):

Page 19: Step 9: it may not be clear to the reader that 12 point type is merely a suggestion. For large images, this may be too small; for very emall images it may be too large. Please increase the point size if the type appears to small (increase the point size number); decrease the point size for very small images (lower the point size number).

Page 22: Step 27: "pressing the right arrow on the keyboard twice and then the left arrow twice" should actually read "pressing the right arrow on the keyboard twice and then the down arrow twice". The original wording will lead to the shadow being in the same place where it started.

Page 22: Figure 1.11: This should not show layer 3 Frame Burn as a clipping layer. The screen was shot before the steps were revised to remove a step making the clipping layer as clipping is not discussed until page 55.

Page 22: Figure 1.12: This should not show layer 3 Frame Burn as a clipping layer. The screen was shot before the steps were revised to remove a step making the clipping layer as clipping is not discussed until page 55.

Page 22: Step 27: "pressing the right arrow on the keyboard twice and then the left arrow twice" should actually read "pressing the right arrow on the keyboard twice and then the down arrow twice". The original wording will lead to the shadow being in the same place where it started.
